When Should I Start My Application for a Penn Engineering Online Master’s Degree Program?

Applying to one of our engineering degree programs early can help you make the most of the admissions cycle.

Starting and submitting your application early gives you more time to confirm that all required materials are complete, hear back from us sooner, and prepare for your first semester.

We are currently accepting applications for Spring 2027 admission. Classes begin in January 2027.

Apply Earlier to Hear Back Sooner

We review completed applications and release decisions on a rolling basis.

That means the sooner you submit your completed application, the sooner you will receive your admissions decision.

Hearing back earlier gives you more time to plan your finances, review potential employer tuition benefits, and prepare for orientation.

Save Your Progress Mid-Application

You can start your Penn Engineering Online application for free and return to it as you gather your materials.

Once you enter the application portal, you can review what is required for the online master’s degree program you want to apply to. You can work through each section of the application at your own pace, including your transcripts, employment information, resume, letters of recommendation, and personal statement.

Starting your application earlier in the cycle can give your recommenders more time to prepare their letters of recommendation and allows additional time for other institutions to provide requested documentation like transcripts, test scores, and proof of English language proficiency if needed.

You Can Start and Submit Without GRE or GMAT Scores

We don’t require applicants to submit a GRE or GMAT score, so you do not need to wait to take a standardized test before beginning or submitting your application.

All applicants have the option to include test scores with their application. Some applicants feel their standardized scores may provide helpful context. But the submission of test scores is entirely optional.
